EverPlay Tournament Software

I'll be spending the majority of my time the next few months working on the EverPlay tournament software. Mary Moore, the founder of Independent Foosball Promotions, will be helping with the project. Recently she gave us a brief feature listing:

All brackets and matches are monitored
Voice match announcements
Self-registration
Online registration with credit card and PayPal integration
Live Online brackets
Detailed event reporting
Integrated accounting system that keeps track of all money taken in and paid out, by user.
Multi-event registration
Text messaging match notification to players cell phones
Jukebox feature for players to select their music
Console that gives you full view of the events running
player profiles - where players can go see what they are doing and what events they are in or they can check out their friend's status.
Projected time of next match - this will give you an estimate on when your next match will be called
The biggest new feature we are adding is the AI (brain). It will oversee every match making sure there never is a hole in the charts. No more long waits.
Up to 512 team charts.

The ETA for the software is September 2006. This is much later than the previous January 2006 projection, but due to feature additions and further testing the release date had to be delayed.

If anyone has requests or suggestions for the tournament software, now would be the time to mention them. We may be able to fit in a few more features, but most likely these requests won't make it into the product until the 2007 update.

# re: EverPlay Tournament Software

Are you planning on adding the "player X", or "Odd man in" feature for a local DYP.

With enough players for the bracket, and a poor suffering player who was on time, (probably drove a ways to get there) but was the odd man, we let the first team knocked out of losers bracket flip a coin.  The winner of the flip is allowed to rejoin as that odd man's new partner.  Sort of like a "last chance" draw.

Of course this would be great, because there is a minimum number of teams to allow "player X" and we would like the software to keep track of the statistics correctly.

If you had this in your software, it would be a no-brainer selection for DYPs everywhere.
