    IFP Points Breakdown

Found an old post that might be useful to keep around....

    Ifp points

0 - 849 beginner ( if you are not in either points book you will start out as a beginner and will play as a beginner until you win money in a rated event. If you do cash in, even your first tournament you could be moved to rookie by the next tournament)

850 - 999 rookie ( if you come to IFP with no IFP points and you have 1499 or less tour points, you will start out at 900 points) For the North Carolina State tournament you must have 1199 or less USTSA points to play in Rookie events.

1000 - 1499 Amateur ( no tour pros are allowed to play in the rookie or amateur divisions. If you came to IFP with no points and you had 1500 to 1799 USTSA points you would start out here as amateur.
1500 - 1999 Expert ( any tour player that reaches 2500 USTSA points is auto bumped out of our Expert division)

    2000 - 2499 pro

    2500 and higher Master

You lose points if you are out in two or three in your own division. Experts will lose points for being out in two or three in Expert and Open events.

You gain points for 12 place or higher, depending on the chart size will determine the amount of points you gain. Starting this year, If a lower ranked team wins an upper division, they will go up one level by the next tournament. Other wise we up date once a year except for beginners cashing, in rated events.
Our tournament program will automaticly move players up when they move up higher on tour, keeping all events rated fairly.

We have been using our points system for 10 years and it does allow everyone to play longer in the lower division, this allowing you to develop your game before moving to pro status. When our players turn pro they are ready and keep on playing.

    Thanks Mary
