  • Re: The foosmovie review

I was really impressed with the movie.  I think because I went into the movie remembering that it was a documentary on the history of foosball, I ended up enjoying the whole film.  I agree that I would like to have seen more of the current playerbase represented, but I also really didn't have that much of a background ...

I loved this movie...i think that the personal issues that foosball players have with Horton should stay just as that....people say that there was too much Horton well he makes for good TV... he is out there dont get me wrong...but the movie was a good movie people just dont like Horton...it is very informative about the history of foosball..to me ...

I thought it was good.  I`m a Horton fan, but it might of been a little over the top. It seemed to me like they focussed alot on how big of a drug problem there was. Maybe I just took it the wrong way. I also would have like to seen more current players in it. Overall i realy enjoyed it.

I cound not agree more.  I love foosball and the people who play it but the one negative thing I have noticed with foosball is the whole attitude(mainly from old schoolers or promasters, not all) about its not as good as it use to be so the foos scene today is not as good.  The money might not be there but the talent ...

I would have liked to have seen more of the current foosball scene in the movie. He needed to show more from the 90s up till now. Too much Horton for me!

Point taken, but that's really the point.  He focused on the extremes of the game.  Scott, a good ol' boy without a mean bone in his body who just loves the game and finds it a source of personal inspiration vs. Johnny, an absolute train wreck on his best day.  Good cop/Bad cop, in other words Maybe not the best analogy in ...

thats a good point Amy.  The parts on Scott Moreland were well done and did add the human element to the film. But man Horten is just so full of sh*t, watching him is like watching a jerry springer episode, yeah its entertaining but after 5 minutes you (should) realize that is it all for show and its just a big pile of dinky ...

We watched the movie.  I know what Ismert was trying to accomplish by featuring Johnny Horton.  And he wasn't only focusing on him....there was a great deal of this movie devoted to Scott Moreland.  His parents have as much to do with foosball as does the church Johnny was filmed in and yet, there was a large chunk devoted ...

Hey Stalker,  Yes, I kind of agree with you, but aren't you being a little critical. For all I know this is Robert Ismert's first time doing a documentary. There not easy to do from what I understand. I did like the time line format, but there was a large portion of the movie given to horton, I guess he wanted perspective from ...
